1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using DocEngine ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these terms.
2. Description of Service
DocEngine is an AI-powered document generation and project management platform. The Service allows users to generate Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) from plain-text requirements and derive related documents such as SRDs, FRS, Epics, User Stories, and Tasks. Additional features include real-time collaboration, quality scoring, document sharing, and multi-format export.
3. Account Registration
To use the Service, you must create an account and provide accurate, complete information. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use.
4. Subscription Plans & Billing
4.1 Plans
DocEngine offers multiple subscription tiers: Starter (free), Professional, Business, and Enterprise. Each plan includes different limits on projects, AI generations, and features. Plan details and pricing are available on our website.
4.2 Billing
Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis. Payment is processed through Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method for the applicable subscription fees.
4.3 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. No refunds are provided for partial billing periods.
5. Your Content
5.1 Ownership
You retain all rights to the content you create, upload, or generate using DocEngine. We do not claim ownership of your documents, requirements, or any other content you produce through the Service.
5.2 License to Us
You grant us a limited license to store, process, and display your content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This includes transmitting your content to AI providers for document generation.
5.3 Prohibited Content
You agree not to upload or generate content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or that infringes on the rights of others.
6. AI-Generated Content
Documents generated by our AI features are provided as drafts and suggestions. You are responsible for reviewing, editing, and validating all AI-generated content before use. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or suitability of AI-generated documents for any specific purpose.
7. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Service or its systems
- Interfere with or disrupt the Service or its infrastructure
- Reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
- Use automated means to access the Service without our permission
- Resell or redistribute the Service without authorization
8. Intellectual Property
The DocEngine platform, including its design, code, features, and documentation, is owned by DocEngine and protected by intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any right to use our trademarks, logos, or branding.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DocEngine shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
10. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we determine is harmful to the Service or other users. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.
12. Changes to Terms
We may modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of significant changes via email or through the platform. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
