Getting Started

Create your account, set up your organization and first workspace, and invite your team members.

  1. Sign up at app.docengine.dev
  2. Create your Organization
  3. Set up your first Workspace
  4. Create a Project within the workspace
  5. Invite team members and assign roles

AI Document Generation

Learn how to generate a BRD from plain-text requirements, then derive SRDs, FRS, Epics, User Stories, and Tasks.

  1. Navigate to your project and click "New Document"
  2. Enter your plain-text requirements
  3. Select your preferred AI provider and model
  4. Click "Generate" to create your BRD
  5. From the BRD, derive additional documents (SRD, FRS, Epics, Stories, Tasks)
  6. Refine each section as needed

Collaboration

Work together with your team using real-time collaboration, comments, and version control.

  • Real-time editing: Multiple users can edit a document simultaneously
  • Comments: Leave inline comments and tag team members
  • Version history: View previous versions and compare changes
  • Roles: Assign Owner, Admin, Editor, or Viewer roles per workspace

Quality Scoring

Understand how DocEngine evaluates your documents for completeness, clarity, and consistency.

  • Overall score: A 0-100 rating for the entire document
  • Section analysis: Individual scores for each section
  • Suggestions: AI-generated improvement recommendations
  • Re-scoring: Re-evaluate after making edits to track progress

Sharing & Export

Share documents externally and export to multiple formats.

  • Share links: Generate secure links with optional expiration dates
  • Permissions: Control whether shared links allow viewing or editing
  • PDF export: Professional PDF output with table of contents
  • Word export: Editable .docx files for stakeholders
  • Excel & Markdown: Additional formats for different workflows
